Judy Eckart and Jim Anthony are planning to have a wonderful
time on Labor Day morning
at Monte Sano State Park, and they'd like you to join them! A bunch of
folks will gather at
picnic tables near the amphitheater starting about 9:00 A.M., Mon., Sept.
4, for a cookout/picnic breakfast. Bring your breakfast or bring a
potluck contribution. After you recover from
breakfast you can join in on a game of volleyball. Call 776-9426 if you
need more information.
T-Shirts are still available at the dances (or call Bryan Walls at
837-0656) for $10.00. Get yours now, and help publicize NACDS by wearing it a
lot!

DANCE TIPS:
(adapted from "Some Helpful Hints for Enjoyable Contra Dancing", compiled by Alice Markham):
- If you get confused, skip the botched figure and go on with the next move. It
is more important to be with the caller, and the music, than to do every
figure.
- Remember to respect the caller by being quiet while (s)he is teaching.
- In lines or circles, it is customary for men's hands to be palms up, ladies'
hands palms down.
- In contra corners and left or right allemands, it is important that both
partners give equal weight The hands should be vertical, and men should avoid
the temptation to maintain control by bending their wrists forward, which bends
the lady's hand and wrist back and hurts.
LOST & FOUND: See Fred if you've lost something at Burritt, or
Harry, if it was at Eastside.
Please bring a FAN when you come to the Eastside dances,
to help keep us cool. Also, Harry could use help with organizing equipment
set-up and take-down at Eastside dances. Call Harry at 772-0820.
