We have made arrangements for special rates at two locations on campus. The Bevill Conference Center (#8 on the map below) on the UAH campus (888-721-9428) has rooms for 1 to 4 occupants at $71 per night, including continental breakfast, if you make reservations before May 2. These are your basic hotel room accommodations. Please book rooms with the Bevil Center directly. Tell them you're calling about the Blue Moon Weekend to get the negotiated rate.
University dorm
rooms are available for $19 per person per night in the North
Residence Hall 1 (
#1 on the map, above). Each suite has 4 single bedrooms, 2 baths, and
a microwave kitchenette. All linens are provided. Check in anytime
after noon on Friday, and out by 1 p.m. Sunday. Registration deadline
is May 2. Include this on your registration form; we’ll
make the reservations for you! Monte Sano State Park is about 15 minutes from the University; it has a good camping area ($17/day), and rustic cabins ($79/day) with a great view -- call 1-800-ALAPARK or 256-534-3757 for reservations. Limited sleeping-bag space (or maybe even a cozy bed, if you register early) will be available in local dancers' homes. We need to know your needs by May 4. There are scores of nearby restaurants of all kinds (a list will be available at registration). We'd like you to join us for a Saturday PICNIC LUNCH. Cost is $8 and includes sandwich, chips, cookie and soft drink from McAllister’s Deli. See registration form for sandwich choices and reservations. Be sure to include this in your registration. No child care will be provided. Children are welcome at the dance under their parents' supervision. |
